RA-dical change

I loved Claro & Stott's podcast for RA, but whoever asks for mixes for the site has a (thankfully) low attention span. The latest one by Swiss dude Kalabrese is radically different to the previous installment. For starters, it was recorded live in a club and therefore features loads of little 'happy accidents' which show that there is indeed a human at the controls. It also marks a stylistic departure: gone is the ice cool techno precision, replaced by the loose, sloppy rhythms that made his 'Rumpelzirkus' album one of last year's best as well as some new old school house tracks from Prosumer et al and that Ricky V rework of Thomas Dolby. I'm not one to heap praise on something if it's not deserved, but in this case, it is. The only question that remains is: who have they got lined up to do the next mix?
